About Shield By Shai
Shield was founded by Shaima Marickar, a passionate advocate for hijab and modest fashion since her early teens. During her years as a medical student in the Middle East, she experienced how modest wear could beautifully reflect one’s faith, confidence, and individuality while being both stylish and convenient.
Inspired by the elegant modest fashion culture she encountered in the UAE, Shaima’s creativity flourished as she curated outfits admired by friends and family. Their encouragement, along with her own love for refined modest wear, led to the birth of Shield.
As a Sri Lankan, Shaima recognized the challenge of finding authentic, ready-to-wear modest clothing that meets the true standards of faith, quality, and elegance. Shield was created to bridge that gap offering women attire that protects, empowers, and celebrates their modest identity.
